This jolly chap is the Japanese god of wisdom, luck, longevity, wealth and happiness, and one of the seven lucky gods of Japanese mythology.
With alleged Chinese origins, he is said to have a head almost as large as his body, which probably made him very smart but difficult to buy hats for.
He is often accompanied by a turtle, a crow or a deer and apparently likes to play chess (putting that big brain to good use).
He is credited with the ability to raise the dead, putting him head and shoulders above many competing gods.
Hats off to you, Fukurokuju!

Was he by any chance the God of Rubik’s cubes?

It’s entirely possible Bun. He almost certainly had a head start over the other gods for that role.

If he so wished, he could buy an over-sized top hat and pull it all the way down, allowing him to disguise his phallic-like bonce.

That would certainly be one approach to consider. Plus it might add a certain style when performing elaborate Hollywood-style dance routines, should the need arise.

See, it’s always been lucky to have an egghead around!

Absolutely Dave, I just wonder if he was preceded by a chicken-head?

I don’t know why, but he reminds me of a Mr. Men character. Definitely needs a hat though!

My memory is so hazy, was there a Mr Head? (I dare not google it, I’m afraid of what search results that might bring..)

Hahaha… No, I can’t imagine that would bring back images of anything pleasant! I don’t think there was though – I’ve had a look and can’t find the one in my head – closest is a cross between Mr. Funny and Mr. Uppity I think.

He also might struggle with low doorways and headbanging.
